Junge Talente - Wissenschaft und Musik

As part of the event series "Young Talents - Science and Music" of the Förderverein für Kunst, Medien und Wissenschaft e. V. (Association for the Promotion of Art, Media and Science), a scientific lecture by HERA can be seen.

Alongside a musical performance by Matteo Gobbini (piano), HERA doctoral student Paul Maria Scheikl gave a talk on "Machine learning for next-generation surgical robots".

logoInnovation award for HERA Lab

The project "KIRuRC: AI-based registration and robot-assisted surgery" is funded by the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Housing of Baden-Württemberg within the framework of the AI Innovation Competition Baden-Württemberg.

Together with the project partners Tripleye and solidfluid, research is being conducted into how surgical tasks can be autonomously performed robotically based on sensor data and an anatomical model.

The HERA team presents some selected work in 3Sat "nano" of 03.09.20 (from Min 19:55) and shows what the intelligent medical robotics of tomorrow can achieve.
An interesting contribution that sheds light on both the technical side of artificial intelligence in medicine and the associated medical-ethical challenges.

SWR at HERASWR visits the HERA Lab

On February 25, 2020, the SWR was a guest at the HERA Lab. For their science program "Odysso", interviews with Jun. Prof. Dr. Franziska Mathis-Ullrich and recordings of the experimental setups in the HERA laboratory were filmed.
